Eligibility Criteria
Award for the Best Information Commissioner
All Information Commissioners in the country who were commissioners during the financial year 2009-2010 for any period of time are automatic nominees.
Award for the Best Public Information Officer
Any Government Officer who has worked as a Public Information Officer (PIO) for any period of time during the financial year 2009-10 (April 1, 2009 to March 31, 2010) and has dealt with more than 50 RTI applications during this period is eligible.
Award for the Best RTI Citizen
- Any Indian citizen, who has filed one or more RTI Application/s and feels that his /her application has created substantial public impact, is eligible to apply for the Best RTI Citizen Award.
- Last year’s winners are also eligible for this year’s award. However, they cannot apply for those RTI applications for which they received the award last year.
- If you applied last year for the award but did not get it, you may apply again for the same work.
Award for the Best RTI Journalist
Any journalist who has filed RTI applications himself/herself and used the information obtained for reporting issues of public importance.
