What are Right to Information Awards 2010?
Right to Information (RTI) Awards was constituted in the year 2009 to honour those Information Commissioners, Public Information Officers and Citizens of India who have been actively involved in successful implementation of the Right to Information Act 2005 in the country. In the year 2010, the RTI Awards Committee (RAC), consisting of eminent RTI Activists from across the nation, decided to constitute a new category of Award titled Best RTI Journalist Award.
What are the different categories of the Awards?
There are four categories of the Awards this year, namely Best Information Commissioner of the Year, Best Public Information Officer of the Year, Best Citizen of the Year Award, and Best RTI Journalist of the Year.
What is RTI Awards Committee (RAC)?
RAC consists of 66 eminent activists representing almost all the states. RAC will monitor the whole RTI Awards process and take all decisions.
