How to Apply?

Award for the Best Public Information Officer

  • Self-Nomination by a PIO: A PIO may apply himself.
  • Nomination by a Citizen: Any Indian citizen can nominate an eligible PIO.

Award for the Best RTI Citizen

  • Self-nomination by a citizen: A citizen can apply for himself.
  • Nomination by another citizen: A person may nominate someone else for the Best RTI Citizen Award.

Award for the Best RTI Journalist

  • Self-nomination by a Journalist:A journalist can apply for himself.
  • Nomination by a citizen: Any person can nominate a journalist who has used RTI and raised issues of public importance.

For all categories- Best PIO, Best RTI Citizen and Best RTI Journalist

  • Photocopies of forms can also be used.
  • The forms complete in all respects could be sent by post or hand delivered at the following address:

  • Incomplete forms or those forms received after 5 pm on 15th July 2010 shall not be entertained.
  • Forms should either be typed or filled in neat handwriting in English/Hindi language only.
